Hey wiki readers and writers, here are some brief updates on the state of the Coffee Cup and some newly unlocked pages for writers to contribute to.

BC Noir

We are unlocking Liquid Friend and Uncle Plasma for fan contributions. Because of the limited nature of these two characters, fans are strictly required to post ideas to each of these players Talk pages and leave them for 48 hours for public feedback before moving them to the main page. This is a departure from our usual 24 hour policy. There will be reminders of this on each Talk page, as well as a link to how to use the Talk pages.

Real Game Band

The Real Game Band is eliminated from the Coffee Cup, but it doesn't mean we can't write some fun lore for the players on the team! Especially those that have been Tractor Beaned and Percolated. Whatever that means. Much like BC Noir, these pages will have an extended 48 hour public feedback period on them, with links on how to use the Talk pages at the top.

Additionally, because these are characters that reference real members of The Game Band and folks around them, writers are expected to be on their very best behavior when making contributions to these characters. Here is a reminder of what the different privacy layers are:

• Private: The author of the character remains the only person who can contribute to the lore. Private pages remain locked, and author submissions to the page go through moderators/admins to be added.

• Approval: The community may make suggestions to a character's lore, but the final approval comes from the original author. Approval may take more or less than 24h, but must always wait for the author's input (either directly on the wiki or via admin/mods).

• Open: The character is treated like normal new characters, with contributors posting to the Talk page and waiting 48 hours before the lore is transferred to the main page.

As I mentioned already, contributors are expected to be respectful and remember that these are connected to real people, even if you don't know who they all are. Additionally, these characters are not to be shipped with anyone, real or fictional.

Society Data Witches and Pandemonium Artists

Many characters from these two teams are marked as Open or Approval, and you can find a complete list of those settings on the Coffee Cup table I have set up below. Making team-based lore for these teams are left to the authors and communities involved.

In general, contributors are free to add lore to the 13 remaining ILB populated Coffee Cup teams, and to players who have played on those teams. Take this opportunity to capitalize on characters meeting that would have never met before!

In the midst of the Grand Siesta, we wake up to a delightful odor. What is it? Blaseball is back for an exhibition tournament? How can it be? And Parker the Fourth is playing? Well that sure makes it interesting!

The wiki returns to a semi-active state this week with the introduction of sixteen new teams, largely composed of pre-existing players in the ILB, with a few notable exceptions. This post will serve as your master guide for how the wiki will handle these new teams and players, and how we expect collaborative writing to proceed, given the nature of the tournament and the ongoing Grand Siesta.

Rules for New Players

Let's address the three teams composed of players from outside the league: the Society Data Witches, the Pandemonium Artists, and the Real Game Band. These are very unique situations, and as such, we will be operating under entirely different rules for the collaborative process because these players are either fan creations or direct references to the real developers of the game.

The creators were offered four options for every player on these new teams:

• Locked: This equates to no wiki page at all.

• Private: The author of the character remains the only person who can contribute to the lore. Private pages remain locked, and author submissions to the page go through moderators/admins to be added.

• Approval: The community may make suggestions to a character's lore, but the final approval comes from the original author. Approval may take more or less than 24h, but must always wait for the author's input (either directly on the wiki or via admin/mods).

• Open: The character is treated like normal new characters, with contributors posting to the Talk page and waiting a set amount of time (24h minimum) before the lore is transferred to the main page.

The expectation is that on this wiki, fiction writers respect these rules. We will be using a combination of locked pages and working directly with authors to enforce this new framework. Additionally, we hope that writers and collaborators externally to the wiki will respect the wishes of authors as posted here. Further, we've been asked to emphasize that writers avoid shipping these new players, as some of the creators are minors.

Society Data Witches and Pandemonium Artists

Largely, the Society Data Witches are placing their characters under the Approval policy. We are still waiting for a full list from them and will populate the table accordingly. Notable private pages include None Binary and Major Arcana. There is otherwise an even mix between Open and Approval on this team.

The Pandemonium Artists also have an even mixture of Open and Approval with three Private pages: Aura Irving, Dunbar McLoud, and Cousin Spike. The latter two are in the Shadows currently. Their full team has selected their privacy options and can be found in the Coffee Cup Talk page linked above.

Further, we are making an exception for Shadowed players on the wiki for this event and for these teams. Normally, we don't make pages for players in the Shadows. However, since there is art and lore for many Shadowed players, we want to let those players have space to shine as well. This is a change in policy for this event only.

Real Game Band

Real Game Band presents an even stranger challenge. These names are largely representative of real people, with strange exceptions like Parker MacMillan IIII.

We have offered the same exact framework to The Game Band, and at default, their pages will be set to Private with no author. This may very well be the only state of those pages. TGB is working very hard, as usual, and we should not expect them to be processing lore additions at the same speed as normal fans.

For any pages marked as Open or Approval, contributors are expected to be on their very best behavior when making suggestions. These are real people, and you should carefully consider how your fictional suggestions will make the real person on the other side feel.

BC Noir

This team is.... very unique. It only has two players! TGB has asked that fans wait to see a full round of games with BC Noir before making contributions to Liquid Friend and Uncle Plasma. This includes pitching lore to the Talk pages. We suspect some weird things may be afoot with this team. We may be setting unique rules for wiki contributions to these pages once we can see what weird things are happening.

Writing Lore for the Remaining 12 Teams

For the other teams in the Coffee Cup that are composed solely of players preexisting in the ILB, contributors are welcome to create lore for those teams! We will be setting a unique 48h waiting period on those teams, due to their being no centralized space for team chats.

Contributors who post to team Talk pages are expected to post links to their pitches on the Blaseball Discord (if you are there) at least once. It's also encouraged to keep team lore vague.

Players in the Shadows

We are making a temporary change to the wiki for this event only. The Team pages will list players in the Shadows so that we can see who is on what team, especially if they get pulled out of the shadows by an unusual game mechanic. This extends to the three new teams, whose players in the Shadows will be both listed and granted full pages.

Closing Thoughts

This is a fun little event to occupy our time during the siesta, and we hope you'll take the opportunity to contribute to the new characters where appropriate! The Wiki Team is still on siesta, so please keep that in mind if you are trying to get our attention or need help with something.

Play ball!

This Sunday Election feels to me a lot like when I would take finals in college. Lots of people are buzzing about, packing their belongings to take home for the holidays or the summer, but the specter of finals looms over everything. There's a hushed energy, a melancholy as we say goodbye for now, knowing we'll come back soon, having rested and spent time with loved ones.

The Election Results have been posted, the Book Transformed, the Arcana distributed. A New Era is upon us, and who can say what fresh horrors it will bring. We'll find out soon, I suppose. There are a few bits and bobs left on the wiki to post from Season 11 (and even Season 10, to be honest), but nothing that needs to be done today.

The Grand Siesta

Keeper_cake revealed this morning that the Grand Siesta would last at least a month, and for the wiki, we are certainly glad to hear it. We ask that you do participate in the Grand Siesta in whatever way you can. This wiki is not shutting down, though we would hope that folks would take a break for now and come back closer to the start of Season 12. We will be available for minimal wiki support via our usual channels.

Future Announcements

The Blaseball Wiki Team have been working on a big new project for the last month or so that will fundamentally change this little slice of the community. It's something we are extraordinarily excited to announce, and we hope to announce it tomorrow, on the First Day of the Grand Siesta.

This coming announcement will not be posted on this Fandom wiki. Instead, please follow us on Twitter at @BlaseballWiki. It's gonna be a big big deal, and if you use this wiki often, be sure to stay tuned.

If you are a regular reader of my blogs, you will have noticed that I normally publish on Sundays. Yesterday, there was no blog to be found. I think you can imagine why:

• A new team was born

• The PODS fell and Hall Stars got released

• The Discipline Era ended, and several storylines with it

Needless to say, writing a blog post was very low on my list of things to do. With that being said, here are several updates about things that are directly relevant to the community action this week, in the final season before the newly announced Grand Siesta.

Tokyo Lift

This is the first new team in Blaseball history, and it's a really big deal. At this time, all the Tokyo Lift pages on this wiki have been created and are locked. This team presents a very tantalizing lore vacuum, and as such, we are not just going to leave these pages to be set in stone by the first person that gets here. The Wiki Admins and Mods need to discuss the length of time we keep these pages locked, to allow for the development of a team culture and to let the new fans get to know each other. Further updates on this will be handled through Discord at first, with more public news at a later time.

The Shelled One's Pods

According to the Election Tidings, The Pods players have fallen back to the Immaterial Plane and been distributed among 12 different teams. Previously, we have put a lore freeze on these characters, permitting teams to write sendoffs their favs if they wanted. Now that all the players have been released, we are opening these players up again to lore contributions.

1. We're treating them like any other swapped players and would like teams to collaborate as outlined in https://blaseball.fandom.com/wiki/Help:Collaboration_Guidelines_and_Procedures.

2. The major thing we want to avoid in this situation is rampant speculation on the nature of the PODS team. Obviously players who go through that process are going to be changed by it, but we're looking to flesh out the characters, not the PODS team.

3. Because these are high profile and beloved players, the wiki mod team is going to be keeping extra eyes on the lore process for these transfers on the wiki. Feel free to contact us if your teams need help.

The Hall Stars

Similarly to the Pods, the Hall Stars have been Released. This is somewhat vague in meaning, but we understand it to mean that these players have retired and cannot return to active play. Truly, it is the first way out of the League.

Contributors will be allowed to write epilogues for the 14 members of the Hall Stars with the expectation that the players are not written to be playing Blaseball in the ILB or anywhere else. Retirement can look like many things, and we want authors to take this rare opportunity in Blaseball to create satisfying narrative endings, fully within your narrative control. We're very excited to see what you all come up with.

Baltimore Crabs

The Crabs have ascended... to the Big Leagues? According to the Shelled One? We don't know, but if you look at the Blaseball site, there's a new bulletin item called Telescope, and at the time of this writing, it says that the Crabs are at 0-2. Mysterious.

Players on the Crabs are gone, but a bunch of stuff got let behind, like the city of Baltimore and The Olde One, perhaps. The Crabs are invited to tell stories about their departure that fit within the canonical framework that we have available to us.

The End of the Discipline Era

The Shelled One is dead, with The Monitor finally tasting the snack it craved for so long. A ton has happened in a very short span of time, and we haven't finished writing up the events. And by we, I mean me, since I do the majority of that. I will be plugging away at them over the next few days, since this week in Blaseball features very normal weather that only screws with win and loss counts. It's very kind on the wiki staff this week.

The things I will be working on include writing a finalized version of The Shelled One page, working on The Monitor, Idols, and Ascension, and creating a Boss page, our third speaking entity, and probably noting the weird glitch with The Black Hole in Game 3 of the Internet Series. As I am working through these, I will do my best to share news of them in the #fan-lore channel on the Blaseball Discord server. Hello Blaseball fans! Wild season finale, huh? To put it in the words of my co-admin Nesblitt, "I truly cannot believe there was a walkoff three run homer in game 5 of the Internet Series and it's like the 10th most important thing that has happened."

We were scrambling yesterday to shift gears from the expected Ascension of the Crabs to.... a JRPG boss fight? Things got weird, but we managed to collect all of it. All major events from last night are recorded on the wiki, including the creation of THE SHELLED ONE'S PODS team page and Day X, a write-up of the events.

We have some strict rules about the handling of canonical events on this wiki (canonical events being anything that directly happens in the game and can be cited with game logs, screenshots, screen recordings, messages from Umpires, or other things of that nature). As such, I am here to lay out exactly what the new boundaries are for your fiction writing in relation to Day X and the PODS.

As always, these rules are meant for the wiki. Twitter roleplaying is not subject to this. Fanfic writing on AO3 or another site is not subject to this. However, any citations to tweets or fics that are involved with the PODS will be prohibited and considered non-canonical by this wiki.

Going forward, players who are on THE SHELLED ONE'S PODS are locked for community lore additions. We have decided that because fans like yourself cannot join the PODS, the PODS belong to The Game Band for the time being. The pages that are locked include:

• Peanut Bong

• Wyatt Quitter

• Francisca Sasquatch

• Patel Beyonce

• Alejandro Leaf

• Wyatt Pothos

• Pitching Machine

• Peanutiel Duffy

• York Silk

• Jessica Telephone

• Peanut Holloway

Any teams that previously held stewardship over these players do no longer. We will not be accepting lore submissions for any of these characters while they are on the PODS. Once any of these players leave the PODS and is Liberated, contributors will not be allowed to directly recount the events of being on that team, but we will revisit at that time how much information a contributor can explore.

There are no competing interpretations about this event for these players. They were snatched by The Shelled One and given the team modification Subjected. We are still discussing what space, if any, there is for the moments before the subjection. Stay tuned to the Blaseball Discord server, #fan-lore channel for additional updates, which will be summarized in next week's post.

If you are drawing fan art of these characters in new PODS uniforms, your fan art is still acceptable on the wiki. Locked pages that have image galleries at the bottom can be added to without admin assistance. If a locked page does not have a gallery, contact an admin for assistance. Of special note are comics or narrative/sequential art. This falls under interpretations of canonical events, and will not be permitted.

As for characters and teams that are external, but connected to the events of Day X, we will be permitting strictly canonical references. For example, Nagomi Mcdaniel may now be aware that York Silk has been unshelled and subjugated, but she did not see him at any point. The Shoe Thieves, who at this point are the only team to have directly interfaced with the PODS, can have additional lore written about them as long as you meet two requirements:

1. You can only describe brief interactions with the PODS, strictly within the confines of the events of Day X as seen in the game log.

2. You cannot attribute actions or intent to players on the PODS that is outside the confines of the events of Day X as seen in the game log.

Finally, for any PODS player who has previously had the Interdimensional Rumor Mill installed may continue to have new entries submitted with the strict expectation that new rumors do not reference the PODS in any way. IRM entries are still subject to the Talk page policy and 24h waiting period for public comment. Any PODS player who does not have the IRM installed will not be permitted to install it until they leave PODS.

Speaking of using the Talk pages, this is the first full week for our new policy requiring all contributions to be posted to the Talk pages. Thank you to everyone who has been making use of the Talk pages to discuss changes with the rest of the community. If you have not yet contributed but are interested, please take a look at the Talk page guide I have written to explain the finer details of discussions on this wiki.

In addition to this, a few days into the week, we discovered that people were still having trouble finding Talk pages, and would miss out on key discussions. In an attempt to help solve this problem, we are requiring that if you are in the main Blaseball Discord server, and you make a post to the Talk page, that you post your discussion to #fan-lore at least once so that interested parties have a better chance of seeing what you are planning.

Apologies for yet another lengthy post. It's hard to keep it small when an angry peanut is doing an Undertale. We've got lots of things in motion for the wiki these days, including a very big announcement that we hope to bring to you soon. Until then, just remember, We Are All Love Blaseball!

Hello wiki users! I hope your siesta has gone well and you were able to keep in touch with all your friends, even if your Discord channel insisted on adopting a 6 hour slow mode policy so that you can recite the entire script of The Bee Movie line by line (the Tacos are really out here establishing their brand as chaos lords).

Over the course of the siesta, Wiki Leadership and Blaseball Discord Keepers have been working hard on a problem that has occurred multiple times in the community now. We've seen significant issues in how people are working collaboratively to create incredible fiction on this wiki, but unless you are online all the time and have awareness in every single location, you are going to miss the fun work that goes into the creations displayed. Many community members are unaware of the work that goes on because they are likely only aware of less than 5% of the community at a time. This has created conflicts where people who are out of the loop perceive changes on this wiki as destructive, when in fact, they just were never aware of the collaboration that happened in a space that they could not access. We aim to change this experience today.

The wiki is a place where people can come to learn about the official narrative of Blaseball. The wiki is also a repository for the many fan-made narratives (aka “community lore”) of Blaseball, and a space to collaborate while expanding and/or diversifying those narratives. It is here for your interesting and creative people, places, and concepts, and it is here to help facilitate conversations as they develop. To use an imperfect metaphor, we are all friends on a collection of road trips across the Immaterial Plane, with one destination: a Good Story. The routes we will take will vary widely, and there will no doubt be a fair share of trials and tribulations, but with communication and compromise (or, if needed, the occasional rental car) we will get there.

To fulfill the above mission, the wiki team has developed the following policies regarding player pages.

Collaboration Guidelines and ProceduresBlaseball, The Internet Blaseball League Wiki

If you are making a major change to a player's page, a summary of it MUST be posted to their Talk page for discussion at least 24 hours before it is put onto the page.

• A major change includes: a player's first lore development, a player's incineration, a player changing teams for any reason, a major narrative beat, new lore that expands relationships or character actions, any changes to previously established writing, or an alternative take on a player.

• A Talk Page summary consists of: (for new players & alternative takes) their history, personality, motivations, and other core concepts; (for narrative beats, lore relationships/actions, changes to previously established writing) what the new beat, relationship, action, or change is, and why it works; (for incinerations) the high-level idea of the end of the player's story, if it's more than marking the player as incinerated and changing loose present tense statements; and (for changes of team) a pitch on the narrative reason for the switch, if it's more than marking the player as on a new team.

The team for which a player currently plays is the steward of that player's community lore.

• This is in recognition of the fact that a majority of the lore generation for any given player happens within a team's channel on the official Blaseball Discord server, or in a spin-off team-based server.

• This should NOT, however, discourage contributors who are not in these Discord servers or associated with a player's team from suggesting their own lore additions, whether as part of a communal narrative or as an alternative take on a player. So long as an idea is written in good faith and does not pose community safety concerns, it is welcome; all interpretations are valid.

• As stewards of a player's lore, the team gets a say in how best to incorporate new contributions with regards to page organization, following the process outlined in the previous section.

• Additionally, teams currently in stewardship of a player must treat previous material and contributors with the same respect as they would their own material.

These policies are effective immediately for all future edits, though we recognize there will be an adjustment period. Part of that adjustment period is learning how to use Talk Pages, and for that we have a guide that you should familiarize yourself with to make contribution as smooth as possible.

For changes of team, we are working on a framework for effectively changing over stewardship of a player. This framework will incorporate the following elements:

• Teams will have a period of joint ownership to work out a transfer narrative, as desired. The length of this period is not fixed, but will be at least a couple of days if things get complicated.

• When writing a transfer narrative, teams should enter discussions with usable ideas. The originating team should ensure all desired lore is on the player's page, be able to clearly state what core elements they want retained in the player's future narratives, and present any pitches to explain the change in team (if they exist). The receiving team should present pitches for what they want to do with the player and/or how the player comes to be part of their team.

• These summaries and pitches will be posted to the player's Talk page, even if extended discussion of them happens primarily in a team's channel on the official Blaseball Discord server.

Additionally, we are working on a conflict resolution process for issues of character stewardship and conflicting ideas. At this time, we can only make the following statements:

• We are developing various ways to present information on player pages, including alternative versions of the Interdimensional Rumor Mill (if possible) and other means of display, taking inspiration from multiverse comic book characters.

• We encourage contributors to both contact the wiki administration & moderation teams on Discord and use the report function on the wiki to bring attention to material that poses community safety concerns or is malicious in impact.

• We are working on new means of communicating moderation actions and decisions to assist in transparency.

Please be patient as we develop these policies & practices further.

We understand that this is a significant change to how the wiki has operated in the past. It's going to be much slower now, and you might run into more friction along the way. We believe we can all learn to work within these new guidelines. These new policies are intended to create a more sustainable system of community building and content moderation.

We expect that members of the community will have many questions they wish to be answered. If you have questions, we encourage you to submit them to this Google Form. We will use these questions to refine and expand the final policy document. but please understand that, structurally, the version you see here today is the version that will remain at the end of our tinkering.

Thank you for reading this very long post. We feel like we are at the start of a journey to a better wiki, one that can last for years to come.

Hey wiki users! We don't have a great deal to share this week because, as you may remember from my last update, we dramatically reduced the amount of recordkeeping we are performing on the wiki. This led to the somewhat unintended result of.... basically doing nothing all week. Which was honestly super great, I played so much Hades (you should check that game out, it's the reason I was with the Hades Tigers for Seasons 2 and 3). We will be filing elections today, but it might be incomplete for a few days due to the siesta allowing us time to take it slow.

From our perspective, the reduced recordkeeping went great. We left an open invitation to the community to fill in the Season 8 tables for all the minor events, and a few members stepped up to fill in a great deal of the minor events. It was also pretty uneventful as far as incinerations and feedback swaps go, which was appreciated by the core maintenance team. The open invitation will continue into Season 9, assuming we aren't going to prime time with an automated solution. Speaking of...

We are making excellent progress on an automated solution to populating season tables with all events. We aren't quite ready yet to make use of it on the main season tables, but eagle-eyed wiki users can already find evidence of automated game logs somewhere on the wiki...

As you probably already know, Blaseball is taking a siesta this week, between Seasons 8 and 9. This affords a great opportunity for us to continue working on the wiki at a sustainable pace. We will be taking the siesta to work primarily on creating user guides, the first of which will be an Etiquette Guide. We have seen a massively increased need for such a guide over the last few weeks, and we are finally going to take the time to write this. No promises on how long it will take, as we view this as a very important piece of writing not just for the wiki, but potentially for the community at large.

As such, I have whipped up a quick survey for wiki contributors to fill out. If you have suggestions for what kinds of guides you would like to see written, or would like to help create any of those guides, this is the place to file your interest and feedback. Hey folks, we wanted to expand on our previous post about York Silk and incineration narratives with a more detailed policy, to help guide your writing.

This policy only covers the stories written on the wiki. Blaseball is for everyone, and canon is fake. This policy does not apply to Twitter role-playing.

The reason we are writing this policy is to clarify questions posed about how to achieve our previously stated goal that incinerations can be many things besides death. Our goal with this is to provide better instruction for how our stories can still invoke the spirit of incineration while allowing for diverse stories. We also believe in the power of ending a story. Endings bring closure and finality, and allow us room to live in new experiences. We are also creating this policy specifically to line up all future incineration stories with the language used in the game itself.

In general, it's been made clear that the Commissioner believes in incineration as defined: destruction of a thing by burning. However, we have previously stated that we do support written stories that do not end in death. What follows is a set of guidelines for how to meet the terms of incineration.

1. The story needs to involve fire, flame, burning, or other such hot-ness, and it needs to be inflicted on the player by a Rogue Umpire. As far as Blaseball is concerned, incineration literally means death of the player. As long as your stories include your player experiencing burning heat, as inflicted by a Rogue Umpire, we will consider it 'incineration.'

2. When a player is incinerated, they can no longer interact with Blaseball. This is how we meet the "destruction" aspect of the definition. If your player isn't literally destroyed, then their old self must be *meaningfully* destroyed. Their career is over, and they have no direct influence over their teams. Instead, players can either fully die, and be gone, or they can exist in the world as a memorial, a legacy, a worshipped god, or some other creative solution. Please see Caligula Lotus and Landry Violence for prime examples of this.

3. Incineration is instantaneous, and this is a true fact about the game. This needs to be reflected in your narratives. After your player is incinerated, they need to enter their final chapter. Anything before the incineration is fair game.

4. You do not need to tell an incineration narrative! As far as the wiki is concerned, it is satisfactory to just change a few lines on a player's page to indicate they are dead.

5. The most important thing is that the story comes to an end. In many ways, Blaseball simulates loss and pain, and while not every story needs to be totally about those themes, it does need to move on. New players are born out of the Field of Eggs, and we should give them attention and love too. Holding on to what has left us is not what Blaseball is about, even if we are doing a little necromancy now and then.

One of the topics of discussion has of late has been about the types of characters we write for ourselves. Some of these characters are animals. Some of them are children. Many of them are queer and racially diverse.

In particular, a conversation has popped up around York Silk, a batter for the Hawaii Fridays. As it is on Blaseball.com, York Silk is only a batter, a high rating batter for sure, but merely a batter. However, within the Fridays community, they have written York as a perpetually 8-year old boy, a wunderkind who was incredible at Blaseball at a very young age.

Recently, some members of the Blaseball community have raised concerns about what it means for an 8-year old to exist in Blaseball when, on occasion, Blaseball inflicts acts of violence -- via incineration -- on its characters. ‘How can you let an 8-year old be incinerated?’ some people claimed. ‘Isn’t that child abuse?’

The response from the Fridays community was that they don’t see it as an act of violence. They say that if York Silk was ever to be hit with incineration in the game, they would write a cute story about how York Silk got a bad sunburn, and his mom would pick him up from the game and take him home, or that his bat got broken and he’s gone home to cry, or some other story that doesn’t imply the death of an 8-year old.

It is the opinion of the Wiki Admins that this particular concern was not brought forward in good faith. To insinuate that anyone is writing stories of grisly child abuse when such stories do not exist is a classic example of concern trolling, and is a bad faith argument. Here is our current position on how people narrativize incinerations within their team:

• Blaseball.com does not ascribe any qualities to the act of incineration. As such, it is ripe for creative writing, and we encourage people to describe incineration however they wish.

• Incineration is often depicted by the community as a violent event, a depiction of death and loss. It’s also beautiful sometimes. Take, for example, the incineration of Landry Violence, from the Hades Tigers. It’s a story of sacrifice, community, and grief. And none of it is officially from the game. We celebrate this beautiful story, and we want all teams to feel like they can fully craft their narratives. This ranges from stories of great violence, to minor inconveniences.

• The Blaseball community is beautifully diverse, and you can find deep, meaningful representation of people of all kinds within the fiction we’ve written, together. It is our opinion that this representation should extend to making child characters. If we restrict the creation of child characters because we don’t want to see them hurt, we feel like we should restrict the creation of animal characters as well. We also suspect this would lead to conversations about the restriction of PoC, LGTBQ+, women, non-binary people, non-traditionally gendered people, and more. We are not willing to go there, especially considering that we believe the creativity of the community can and will create stories that represent them best.

• Since Season 2, Blaseball has featured incinerations as a core mechanic of the game. Again, this act is left open ended in the game, but it’s common to conceive of this as a violent act of killing. Because this is a core part of the game, we’d like community members to consider how they would write a story about incineration if it happened to one of their characters. If you are making characters that you would be uncomfortable to see be incinerated, or cannot find a story for their demise that fits in your community, consider creating a different character. The community writing aspect of Blaseball is a core element of the game for us, and if you find yourself uncomfortable with the direction a character is taking, only you can voice your concerns to your community. If you are uncomfortable with the act of incineration entirely, we’d like to ask you to consider if reading or contributing to the community written content is for you.

We’d also like to speak on the community of the Hawaii Fridays. As Wiki Admins spent time talking to the Fridays, it became very clear to us that “chill vibes” was not a meme for them, but something they really chose to embody. Being targeted by ill-intentions to imply that they were host to a story of grizzly child abuse was taken hard by the community. This is a community that encourages friendliness, and they feel that these accusations brought against them are disingenuous at best, and an intentional, bad faith attack at worst.

As Admins, we’d ask people to take the time to understand the communities they are interacting with. It’s not conducive to our overall community health to purposefully misrepresent each other. Seek to understand each other. Read each other’s lore entries, and enjoy the diversity we all share.

Lastly, know that as Admins, we are here to continue taking in feedback. At this point, we are considering this topic resolved until and unless new feedback significantly changes the dynamic of this situation.

Introducing the Interdimensional Rumor Mill, a system of wiki software and new unifying lore that is designed to support a (theoretically) infinite number of head canons on all your favorite Player pages.

I'm not going to go into great detail here about the the depths of the Interdimensional Rumor Mill because you can read absolutely everything about it through that link. There are three parts: the in-universe lore page, a Guide to how it works and how to install it, and a code documentation page.

We created this system as a way to honor the vision of Blaseball, which is that all things are exciting and true, but we just can't quite tell how it all comes together, making for a mysterious and weird world.

On every page where the IRM is installed, when you refresh the page, it will randomly select a new Rumor to show you about that player, whether a weird alternate history, a poem summarizing their personality, and maybe a universe where they are a sentient restaurant mascot (all of these are real examples).

Please take a look at the main page, and let the admins know if you need any assistance! As always, the best way to contact us is via Discord (seen in the sidebar), and leaving comments on this post is effective as well.

Hey Blaseballers! Thank you for your patience after the Season 3 Election Results completely upended any sense of stability we had on this wiki! We have completed a few different things, so let me lay out a lot of things at once. This will be a longer post because I want to keep the Wiki-only audience updated with all the happenings from the Blaseball Discord. Once I establish our context, future announcement posts will be shorter.

Season 3 Elections, the Wyatt Masoning, and Interviews information: We have largely updated the player pages on this front. The Wyatt Mason situation had been under control until The Commissioner began localizing all the Wyatts within the newly shattered Los Angeles.... Yesterday was weird, but we got it under control. All modified statistics from the election have been updated, and most of the player pages have been updated with information from Interviews. We'd ask that you don't update your player infoboxes with this info if it's not present. We know about it and will update it shortly.

Player Realignment Project: If you were not in the Blaseball Discord, you may not have seen that we conducted a survey about a week and a half ago. Out of that survey, we developed a roadmap of projects for the wiki and community to tackle. You can read our Survey Results and Action Plan if you haven't already. The first step of that roadmap was the Player Realignment Project, which is visually separating the official information from Blaseball.com from any fan written works or fiction. This is only the first step if an overall goal, which is to allow people to write entries for anything they want without it being considered noncanonical. This step of the project is complete, and editors may make changes to player sections that aren't related to the game (only lore stuff, basically).

Teams Realignment Project: This is the next major step for us, which we plan to have done before Season 4. This is a similar project to the Player Realignment Project, but significantly trickier, since many of those pages are way longer than a typical player page. At this time, we ask that editors do not make changes to the main Team Pages or Season Pages. I will post an announcement when those are open.

Team Historians: As a part of all this maintenance, we have recruited Team Historians to help Admins with maintenance and offer feedback on future ideas and current concerns. This is essential for us because this wiki is still growing rapidly, and we anticipate it will continue to be a complex task. Hey wiki users, important announcement here. We have been made aware of an instance of plagiarism on the wiki, and have removed the offending article entirely. This is a serious concern, and it's considered copyright infringement. Repeated offenses will result in a ban from the wiki.

At the same time, we are setting a policy for references and celebrities. Here are the basics:

- Community members are forbidden from creating in-universe pages for themselves or other community members.

- Referencing celebrities and external properties is accepted. Keep it small. Do not just insert entire concepts or people into the world of Blaseball.

- Changing the names of real people, places, and things for the purpose of parody is acceptable. See https://blaseball.fandom.com/wiki/Jamazon for a good example.

We might flesh this out once we have more time. We trust you to be careful and smart.
